Streets 5 Launches with New Timeline Feature, Allowing Users to Travel Back in Time

March 28, 2025 — Streets, the popular Street View browser app, has just released a significant update: Streets 5. This latest version introduces Timeline, a powerful new feature that lets users explore past panoramas and see how locations have changed over time.

With Timeline, users can access historical imagery when multiple Street View images are available for a location. A new Timeline button appears next to the image date in the top drawer, making it easy to browse and compare different moments in time.

In addition to Timeline, Streets 5 expands its worldwide gallery collection, adding hundreds of new curated locations, particularly museums, to enhance the exploration experience. The update also includes bug fixes, such as an improved delete button for recent places.

Adapting to a New Business Model

A month ago, Streets transitioned to a freemium model in response to increased costs from Google. While the change was met with some initial criticism, the move has proven to be sustainable. Thanks to the support of subscribers, Streets continues to grow and introduce new features like Timeline.
