Where To? supports Allryder

The new Where To? 7.1.3 update supports Allryder to get directions to any place found. Allryder is different from the more than 50 directions apps we support: It not only shows public transport directions but also takes into account a cab ride as well as car and bike sharing services such as car2go, DriveNow, call-a-bike or Nextbike. For each service the estimated travel duration and price are listed. We particularly like Allryder for its beautiful, fluid user interface. Headquartered in Berlin, the folks at Allryder currently support Germany, Ireland, London and Zurich.

In addition to Allryder support we haven’t been lazy for this update:

  • We added 90 additional brands, mainly in the US and Germany – so you can easily look for places of your favorite chain.
  • When you save a place as a contact we now store phone numbers in international format. The same goes for the VCARD attachment when sharing a place via email.
  • Some of you wondered why we request “Always” location permission and not the “While in Use” permission introduced in iOS 8. The reason is certain features such as the Pebble integration need background location. That’s why we ask for this permission to begin with. Of course, we don’t hog your battery and carefully use location services only when needed. Nevertheless, you spoke and we listened. So here’s a solution for those who’re concerned: Open the system Location Privacy Settings (there’s a shortcut from the in-app settings) and select “While Using the App”. Just be aware that certain features that need background location might not work. Don’t tell me you haven’t been warned! 😉
  • We worked on the map region control to make the zoom-in to the set of found places more reliable.
  • On iPhone 6 Plus the indentation of list rows and the corresponding separator lines was a bit off, so we fixed that.
  • We had a particularly bad crash slip through for users with Russian, Swedish or Thai as their system language. Thanks for informing us, Alexey, so we could fix it. While we’re at it: if you encounter a bug, crash, or any other issue, please, please let us know! If you don’t, there’s no way for us to fix them!
  • And we fixed numerous minor bugs that are too negligible to mention them here.

As always you can download the update on the App Store. And if you want to do us a little favor, take a minute and post a nice review on the App Store! ❤️
